Ground
Preperation
It is highly recommended that the ground
preparation is done properly or your project
will not last long enough for your investment
to be fruitful. The ground preparation is
vital to the longevity of synthetic surfaces.
Every job is different and requires different
hurdles to overcome in order to increase
your chances of success. There are several
different factors that we take into consideration
before we install your putting green or
lawn.
A few examples are:
1.
removal of the existing soil 2.
compaction of your subgrade 3.
revision of your drainage 4.
revision of your sprinkler system to keep
the city water off of your synthetic surfaces 5.
the addition of root barriers 6.
the addition of landscaping borders 7.
The addition of retainer or sitting walls 8.

Subsurface
Underneath every project lies a base. Never
underestimate the importance of a strong
base. The base will determine the way your
project will look for its entire life. The
last thing that you want is for it to change
its form and loose the quality surface that
was intalled initially. Thus lies the extreme
importance for ground preparation, which
is to protect the base of your project.
The base is made up of materials that compact
to 100%. We spend as much time as necessary
to perfect the subsurface before we lie
the turf on the top. Creating undulation
for putting greens and lawn is a true art
form. We will never rush any phase of a
project, especially this one. We take serious
pride in our installations of our base.
Subsurface
Materials
Installing the turf is like laying down
carpet. It is very important that all of
your seams are cut correctly and then bonded
with special materials. If this is not done
correctly you will see seams all over your
project which will take away from the realism
of the surface. Each type of turf requires
an infill. The putting surfaces require
sand and the lawns require a combination
of rubber and sand. Most of the turf that
comes from the manufacturer needs to be
manipulated in order for it to blossom into
its most beautiful state. The putting green
in particular requires hours of attention
in order to get the sand to fall correctly.
If this is not done correctly your ball
will not roll smooth. There are so many
things that you can do wrong if you are
not taking the time to make sure that everything
is done with perfection in mind. We have
to be careful not to give to many secrets
away. We would be happy to explain all of
this in further detail. Please call our
office to set up an appointment.
